Four people are believed to have died when a jet flying from Shoreham airport in Sussex crashed in Germany, according to police.

Shoreham Airport's "thoughts are with those affected"

Brighton City Airport, known as Shoreham Airport, released this statement yesterday regarding the plane crash in Germany:

Brighton City Airport, also known as “Shoreham Airport” is aware of the aircraft accident near Trier, Germany today and can confirm that a Cessna Citation 501 departed Brighton City Airport for Trier Airport in Germany at 0954 GMT this morning.

Brighton City Airport sends its condolences to all involved in the accident and our thoughts are with those affected. Brighton City Airport will assist with any subsequent investigation as required by the authorities.
