Woman air lifted to hospital in Kent after assault

A man has been arrested this morning after a woman was thought to have been stabbed in a shop in Ash, near Sandwich.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to the William Harvey Hospital by air ambulance in Ashford where she is being treated for her injuries on her back, thought to be caused by a knife.

The injury is not believed to be life threatening.

A 61-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and is currently in police custody.
