Rail repairs could be lengthy after landslip

No rail services between Eastleigh and Fareham due to landslip

Engineers are at the landslip and say it is going to take several days - at least to clear the landslip and re-open the line. A further assessment will be made tomorrow and Monday - at this point they have not said when the line will be clear.

Routes affected (in both directions):

Waterloo to Portsmouth via Eastleigh - these trains will be diverted and will not call at Botley or Hedge End. Journey times will be extended by at least 30 minutes.

Southampton to Portsmouth - these trains will run on their normal route but may be delayed because of congestion caused by the diverted trains.
