Two jailed for hammer attack

Two men who left their victim with a fractured skull following an an argument in Maidstone have been jailed.

Trenton Musgrave and Liam Quinnell were found not guilty of attempting to murder the 35 year-old victim, but were found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Musgrave was jailed for 13 years, and Quinnell was jailed for 12 years.

In the early hours of 15th June, 30 year-old Trenton Musgrave, of Melville Road in Maidstone, and 27 year-old Liam Quinnell, of Bicknor Road, had been asked to leave a party in Boxley Road, Maidstone, following an altercation.

A short while later police received a number of 999 calls reporting that a man had been struck with a hammer and kicked in the head in Boxley Road.

The force of the blows led to the victim sustaining a fractured skull and he was rushed to Kings College Hospital in London.
