A man has been sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for burglaries in Berkshire and Oxfordshire.
Andrew Merkett, aged 30, of Bulkeley Avenue, Windsor, was sentenced for two burglary offences.
The burglary in Berkshire occurred in Hatchgate Lane, Cockpole Green, on 12 August last year.
Merkett used garden tools to gain entry to the property, before activating an alarm and fleeing the scene.
Meanwhile, the burglary in Oxfordshire happened in Idbury on 23 August 2013.
Merkett again used garden tools to gain entry to the building and stole approximately £5,000 worth of jewellery, which had great sentimental value to the owner.
