Investigation underway after fire at girls' school in Sussex

More than thirty firefighters tackled a blaze at a school in Horsham, Sussex on Thursday 20th March. An investigation into the cause is underway.

Road closures remain in place after Horsham school fire

Police are attending Millais School in Depot Road, Horsham, where an upper floor is on fire. The alarm was raised shortly before 3pm today. Firefighters are in attendance and there are no reports of any casualties. The school has been evacuated.

Depot Road has been closed between its junctions with Orchard Road to the west and Comptons Lane to the east. Police are assisting with parents collecting children in Highlands Road to the south of the school. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
