Around 100 supporters, waving banners, gathered outside a court today where the Green MP Caroline Lucas is facing charges following the anti-fracking protest in Sussex.
The MP for Brighton Pavilion is one of five defendants accused of a public order offence and obstructing the highway.
The court has been shown video footage of the demonstration at Balcombe, last August. Evidence has been heard that the MP refused to leave the site because she wanted to show solidarity with the other demonstrators. Charlotte Wilkins reports
