The M26 Londonbound will remain closed until around 8pm tonight, according to Kent Police.
Traffic is being redirected to join the M20 at Wrotham Heath and traffic on the Coastbound side is being released past the scene.
One lane will be opened to new traffic afterwards.
Kent Police is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them.
Officers were called at 9:37am on Wednesday 16th April to a report of a multi-vehicle collision on the Londonbound carriageway of the M26, near Kemsing.
The collision involved five vehicles - two HGVs, two cars and a box van.
