Southampton family pulled to safety by passers-by from car fire

A family from Southampton were pulled to safety after a collision between two cars in the Lake District. A 43-year-old man and woman have been flown by air ambulance to a Newcastle hospital whilst three teenagers were pulled out by passers-by.

Southampton father still "critical" after Cumbria crash

A 43 year old father from Southampton remains in a critical condition in hospital after a head on collision in the Lake District yesterday. His three children and his 43 year old wife were also injured in the crash and are undergoing treatment.

The collision happened on the A66 near Threkeld as the family returned from holiday
