Gatwick has unveiled its plans for a second runway. It comes on the heels of Heathrow's announcement today - and its proposals for a third runway - including a sixth terminal.
Gatwick and Heathrow are in a bitter battle to win support for expansion.
Gatwick says a new runway at the airport would create 120,000 new jobs. It confirms that around 400 homes and businesses would be demolished to make way for it.
Flight numbers would rise by 260,000 a year - with an extra 60 million passengers.
Both Heathrow and Gatwick are making formal submissions to the Government's Airport Commission looking into a new south east runway. It has already said either a new runway at Gatwick or Heathrow should be built.
Critics say it would cause devastation and unacceptable noise under the flightpath.
