Police in Weymouth are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward after an assault on the Rodwell Trail.
The incident occurred at about 1.30pm on Friday 30th May on a shared cycle way near the bridge over Sudan Road.
The victim, a 28-year-old woman, was cycling toward Wyke Regis from Weymouth when a man, who was walking with a woman, shouted abuse and punched her hard on the arm as she passed them.
This caused the victim to crash and fall off her bike. The offender then kicked her in the back. The rider sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.
The man and woman are described as white, in their fifties and both have short hair.
