A Charing man who subjected a woman to a terrifying and violent attack has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Mouizz Boumnijel, 23, was arrested after subjecting his ex-partner to an ordeal where after forcing his way into her Ashford home in the early hours of 3 August, he repeatedly punched, slapped and tried to throttle her in an unprovoked attack.
During the incident he dragged her across the floor by her hair, ripping her extensions out.
His beatings left her losing consciousness and pleading for an ambulance. It was only as he went upstairs to grab her phone that his victim escaped and got help.
He fled the scene but officers found and arrested Boumnijel of Downsway, Charing, the following day.
He was found guilty of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and convicted at Canterbury Crown Court on 28 August. He was sentenced to three years in prison and also given an indefinite restraining order.
