The Winchester Festival gets under way on Saturday, a nine day celebration of music, drama and the arts
Among the highlights - the Young Soloists Competition, showcasing the best of young musical talent in the south.
Dozens of youngsters applied for the competition but it was whittled down to just three.
Rachel Hepworth went to watch the finalists in action.
Rachel spoke to violinist Matthew Lloyd-Wilson, trumpeter Nicholas Budd and oboist Luke Roberts, as well as the conductor of Noyes Flodde, Carl Clausen, from the Hampshire Music Service.
