An arts project comes to Kent tonight - Thursday 13 October - aiming to remind people of the close ties between East and West here in the South East a century ago.
Project New Earth is inspired by the Chinese labourers recruited by the British Army during The Great War and includes film, dance, musical drama and a history lecture.
The production is touring parts of the country linked to the story of the workers, many of whom came through Folkestone on their way to the Western Front.
We speak to David Tse from Chinese Arts Space and historian Karen Chang.
Excerpts also from 'Lunar Corps' film
Free performance at Southbank Centre London, 16 Dec 2016
