The two best restaurants in the UK are in Oxfordshire according to the latest travel awards by TripAdvisor. Raymond Blanc's restaurant Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat'Saisons has been named the fourth best rated restaurant in the world and top in the UK. While second place goes to The Waterside Inn in Bray owned by Michel Roux. It was also placed seventh in the world rankings.
The awards honour travellers' favourite fine dining restaurants worldwide, based on the millions of reviews and opinions on TripAdvisor. It says award winners were determined using an algorithm that took into account the quantity and quality of reviews, gathered over a 12-month period.
The UK boasts more winning restaurants in the world top ten than any other country. It is the second time Raymond Blanc's Oxfordshire restaurant has topped the UK rankings, having previously done so in 2013. The restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars in 1985.
Raymond Blanc said "I am thrilled that we have been awarded such a wonderful accolade - it is a credit to my Restaurant Director and the entire team! This is a huge achievement and I am immensely proud of everyone here"
