Plans for a new junction on the M20 near Ashford in Kent are a step closer.

A £39.1 million contract has been awarded to VINCI Construction by Highways England.

The proposals would see the creation of Junction 10a, approximately 700 metres east of the existing Junction 10.

It would connect to the existing A20 and a new carriageway link road would be built to the A2070 near Sevington.

Developers are currently waiting for planning permission to be granted.
