Dramatic fall in number of butterflies in region

It may be quite early to be thinking about butterflies - but there have already been some sightings in Kent and Sussex, according to the charity

If you have seen one and can correctly identify what it is then they want to hear about it. The organisation monitors moths and butterflies - because their numbers have dwindled over the past 20 years.

The Kent Wildlife Trust told us in certain areas of the South East like Blean Woods near Canterbury, numbers of some species are doing well.

But as Butterfly Conservation admits, in our towns and cities there's been a dramatic fall. Duncan Sleightholme has been investigating.
