Police refuse to check CCTV to catch bike thieves

When David Bailey had his bike stolen in Brighton, he thought there was a good chance the theft would have been caught on CCTV.

David, a solicitor, had left the £1000 mountain bike chained up, directly below a camera operated by Sussex Police.

But he was staggered when the force told him the crime wasn't serious enough for them to spend time checking the footage, as Malcolm Shaw reports.
