"Killer has more help from state than victim's family'

When their beloved son and brother was brutally murdered, a family from Portsmouth say they were left feeling without help and support as bereaved victims. In fact they felt as if his convicted killer received more help from the state.

But mother and son Helen Smith and Eugene Scardifield say they were emotionally rescued by one of the only charities in the country specialising in support for those affected by murder. And now they are helping that charity in return. Martin Dowse reports.
