Police in Surrey are appealing for help after a man was found dead in his van following a collision, apparently having been there for some time.

Officers were called to Ockham Road North, near to the junction of Long Reach Road, after a member of the public spotted the van early this morning.

At the moment it is unclear what time the collision, involving the Vauxhall Astra car-derived van, occurred.

The driver, a man in his 30s, was declared dead at the scene and his next of kin have been informed.

This is a quiet road at night time, however we’re hoping that someone may have seen the van there earlier than when it was reported at 7am, as it’s clear that it had already been there for some time.

“It’s also equally important that we hear from anyone who may know more about exactly what happened.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
