Man dies in hospital after Windsor assault

A murder investigation has been launched after a man was found unconscious in the road in Windsor.

Mr Mohammed Rasheed, who was 50 and from London, has died following the assault.

Police are now renewing their appeal for witnesses to the incident which led to Mr Rasheed’s death.

At around 2am on Sunday, officers discovered Mr Rasheed lying in the service area at the bottom of Goswell Hill close to the taxi rank.

He was unconscious and was injured and being tended to by members of the public.

He was treated at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford where he subsequently died yesterday.

“I know that the area where this incident occurred was busy at that time of night and that many people will have seen the altercation, perhaps even without realising the significance of what they were witnessing. If you were in the service area at the bottom of Goswell Hill between 0150 and 0210hrs on Sunday morning please contact the incident room as you may have information that is vital to the investigation

“Equally, if you were involved in any way with the incident I would urge you to come forward now.

“I am also keen to hear from drivers at the nearby taxi rank who may have dashcam footage and people who may have mobile phone footage of their night out which was taken in the specific area at that time.”
