CQC report names and shames eight care services in region

The report was compiled by the Care Quality Commission Credit: PA

The Care Quality Commission has found the quality of care provided by eight services in the South of England to be “inadequate”.

Organisations across Kent, West Berkshire, Wiltshire, Surrey and East Sussex were among those listed with the worst reviews.

The Saltings in New Romney, Kent, was found to be "unsafe, not well led and not very effective".

We will continue to monitor these practices and we will inspect again in six months to check whether improvements have been made. I expect that the homes will do what is required for the sake of the people living there but if we find that any of these services remain Inadequate, we will take further appropriate action.
