Police trying to trace last steps of former prisoner found dead

Police are trying to trace the whereabouts of former prisoner found dead in Buckinghamshire.

The body of 52-year-old Ashley Shay - originally from Basingstoke - was found in a wooded area on private land in Great Kimble, off the A4010, on Tuesday 22nd August 2017.

Mr Shay had last been seen alive more than three months ago - when he was released from Bullingdon Prison on 15th May 2017.

Officers say his death appears to be "non-suspicious" and that they're making enquiries on behalf of the coroner.

Thames Valley Police is appealing to the public to help trace Mr Shay's last known whereabouts. They're asking anyone with information to contact 101 quoting reference '43170250008'.

Mr Shay on his release when last seen was wearing a dark blue jacket, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers.

It is possible that Mr Shay was travelling on foot or by public transport."
