Commuters to Milton Park, Oxfordshire, will benefit from the reopening of a disused underpass in a bid to reduce demand on surrounding roads.

The redevelopment of Backhill Tunnel will enable pedestrians and cyclists movement beneath the railway embankment adjacent to the A4130 in west Didcot.

The path will offer a link the existing railway embankment to the A-road into Milton Park.

The developers of Milton Park worked closely with Oxfordshire County Council to deliver the scheme, which was fully funded by Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership at a cost of £1.4 million.

The work is now in its final stages and due to be completed by November.
