Top CEO appointed as interim chief exec for East Kent Hospitals

Susan Acott is rated as one of the HSJ's top 50 Chief Executives.

Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust's CEO Susan Acott has been appointed as East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust's interim Chief Executive.

East Kent Hospitals bosses say Susan Acott has significant NHS leadership experience and has held senior positions in the NHS in Manchester, Merseyside, York and London. Susan is rated as one of the Health Service Journal's (HSJ) top 50 Chief Executives.

She has held her role as Chief Executive at Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust for eight years.

Her leadership experience of a career across the NHS, combined with extensive knowledge of local healthcare needs, will help the Trust build on the improvements it has already made and will provide stable leadership while the Trust works to recruit a permanent Chief Executive.”

Susan will act as interim Chief Executive at East Kent Hospitals from 16th October until 31st March 2018, while the Trust recruit for the permanent role.

Gerard Sammon, Dartford and Gravesham NHS Trust’s Director of Strategy and Planning, will become the interim Chief Executive at Dartford until Susan returns from her secondment at East Kent.
