Gillingham caretaker manager, Steve Lovell, says there is "no update" on the managerial situation at the club.
Lovell took over the role on an interim basis last month after Ady Pennock's sacking, then Peter Taylor's departure from the club, and has presided over a win, draw and defeat in that time.
The Welshman has admitted he has had no discussions with the chairman over his future as yet.
But the former forward, who made more than 200 appearances for the Gills as a player, has made it clear he wants the manager's job on a full-time basis.
The League One side travel to fifth place Rotherham tomorrow off the back of a damaging defeat at home to fellow strugglers Northampton last time out.
But Lovell says his team can take confidence from their recent performances, particularly their home draw against high flying Wigan earlier this month.
