Reading manager, Jaap Stam, has admitted to ITV News Meridian he is "not satisfied" with how his team have performed in recent weeks.
The Royals currently lie in 20th position in the Championship - two points outside the relegation zone - having just missed out on a place in the Premier League last term.
But Stam, whose side host Middlesbrough tomorrow, believes certain factors have conspired against them so far.
"Certain performances weren't good enough. Certain performances, we played well, but didn't get the result that we deserved but that's how it goes in football. We haven't been lucky with the squad to be honest, with the injuries that we're having at the moment.
All these things at the moment doesn't make it where we want to go."
Reading have lost six of their 12 league matches so far, a run of form which has seen Stam's position as manager come under scrutiny.
But the Dutchman would not be drawn on his future, other than telling our reporter Mark McQuillan he is "up for the fight" ahead.
