A 21-year-old woman who was seriously injured in a collision on Dartford Crossing has died.
The victim, from Essex, was injured at around 4.42am on Friday 3 November 2017 following a collision involving her Audi A1 which she was driving, and a commercial lorry on the southbound carriageway of the Dartford River Crossing.
The collision happened on the Kent side of the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge and a 25-year-old man from Croydon was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Officers from Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from anyone who saw the lorry, which is white in colour with red and blue writing on the side, and which was towing a drawbar trailer, in the moments before the collision.
The bridge was closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident and a diversion was put in place through the Eastbore tunnel.
The driver of the lorry has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.
