As the battle for Saturday night supremacy kicks off with the BBC's The Voice takes on ITV's Britain's Got Talent, Twitter felt the strain as people all over the UK logged on to tweet about the shows.

#TheVoiceUK and Reggie Yates have been trending worldwide while the BBC's show is on air.

Britain's Got Talent and The Voice go head-to-head this evening. The judges have been sparing on twitter for weeks.

The BBC reportedly spent £22 million on the new show, in an effort to bring back the viewers normally tuned in to ITV's hit shows The X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent.

Ant and Dec's Queen-themed flashmob

As anticipation mounts for the new series of Britain's Got Talent it's been revealed that hosts Ant and Dec have been out rousing the fans.

As the exclusive preview you can see here shows they whipped up the fans with a Queen-themed flashmob in London.

With go-go dancers, ballerinas, beauty queens and dancers it was quite the street carnival.

The new series of Britain's Got Talent is on Saturday night on ITV1 at 8pm.
