Anti-abortion vigils planned

Pro-life campaigners will hold more than 50 "kerbside vigils" across the UK on Saturday to mark 44 years since the Abortion Act came into effect.

Anti-abortion vigils to face rival protests

Pro-choice supporters are planning counter-demonstrations when anti-abortion campaigners hold vigils for "killed unborn babies" on Saturday.

Rival protests will be held in several of the cities where vigils organised by the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children are taking place, including Bath, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Sheffield and Newcastle.

Pro-life campaigners will 'form chains' across UK

Anti-abortion activists say they will form chains along kerbsides in more than 50 UK towns and cities on Saturday.

Supporters of the Society for the Protection of Unborn Children (SPUC) will hold the Pro-Life Chains event at 11am.

The group say over 7.5 million abortions have been carried out in Britain since The Abortion Act came into effect on 27 April 1968.
