UK's male depression 'epidemic'
An ITV News / ComRes poll for the Tonight programme found that one in four of those questioned say they currently have depression. 70% of those looking for work say they currently have, or have suffered with, depression.

Bath rugby prop Duncan Bell suffered with depression for ten years before he confided in someone and sought help:
"It wells up from within you, I almost get the feeling of the world closing in, almost like tunnel vision it comes from the outside in."

Four in five think people are embarrassed about suffering depression
An ITV Tonight / ComRes survey also suggests:
- 82% of people surveyed agree with the statement: "I think that people who have depression are often embarrassed about admitting that they have the illness."
- 46%of men and 62% of women surveyed agreed with the statement: "If someone were to talk to me about having depression I would be able to give them useful advice about where to seek help and support."
A quarter of adult Britons currently dealing with depression
An ITV Tonight / ComRes survey suggests that a quarter of the adult British population could be dealing with depression right now.
It found:
- 27% of females and 20% of males questioned said they were suffering depression;
- 70% of those seeking work said they either once had, or do now have, depression.
