The Met Office has predicted that today will top yesterday's scorcher and become the hottest day of the year with temperatures expected to reach 28C in some areas.

Temperatures in Britain are set to top yesterday's scorcher with parts of the country reaching 28C, the Met Office have said.

The Greater London area or Southampton are predicted to be the hottest.
