England have beaten the Rest of the World in Soccer Aid at Old Trafford. The charity event organised by Robbie Williams has raised millions of pounds for Unicef.

Soccer Aid united by 'generosity of spirit'

The huge public response to the Soccer Aid appeal shows that those watching tonight's game are united not only by a love of football but by a fantastic generosity of spirit. Celebs and ex-pros line up for Soccer Aid charity match

Two teams of celebrities, including A-list Hollywood actors and footballing superstars, will play in the Soccer Aid charity football match today.

Players on the England team include: comedians John Bishop and Paddy McGuinness, singers Olly Murs and Mark Owen, with Robbie Williams team captain.

They will be joined by former footballers Graeme Le Saux, Martin Keown, Kevin Phillips, David Seaman, Teddy Sheringham and Des Walker.

Playing for Rest of the World will be: actor Gerard Butler, former boxer Joe Calzaghe, Hollywood stars Will Ferrell, Woody Harrelson, James McAvoy, and Mike Myers.

They will be joined by football legends Hernan Crespo, Roy Keane, Clarence Seedorf, Jaap Stam, Edwin Van Der Sar and Freddie Ljunberg.

Take That stars join forces for Soccer Aid

Robbie Williams has unveiled Mark Owen as the latest celebrity for Soccer Aid.

The Take That star thanked his bandmate on his blog for agreeing to take part in the charity event.

The best football player that TT produced has agreed to play for England at Soccer Aid.

Mr Mark Owen shall be gracing the theatre of dreams. It just gets better and better.

Mark Owen has been signed up by bandmate Robbie Williams as the latest big name for Soccer Aid.

The Take That star joins a line-up for the charity event that includes Hollywood actors Jason Isaacs, Gerard Butler, Will Ferrell and Mike Myers.

The celebrities will do battle at Old Trafford on May 27.
