Denver suspect murder charges

The state of Colorado has posted the list of charges against James Eagan Holmes here.

As well as 24 murder charges and 116 attempted murder charges, the sheet includes:

• One charge of possession of explosive or incendiary device

Denver shooting suspect James Holmes has been formally charged with 24 counts of murder and 116 counts of attempted murder.

The 24 murder charges include 12 counts of first-degree murder and 12 counts of 'murder with extreme indifference'.

The charges were formally presented as the 24-year-old made his second court appearance since his arrest moments after the massacre during a packed showing of "The Dark Knight Rises" shortly after midnight on July 20.

The former graduate student accused of killing 12 people in a shooting spree at cinema near Denver is due to make a second court appearance today.

Criminal charges against James Holmes, 24, who has remained jailed since his arrest, are expected to be formally presented at today's hearing, which will not be televised.

At his initial court hearing one week ago, Holmes said nothing and appeared dazed and groggy, occasionally closing his eyes as if fighting off sleep.

The woman who is critically injured suffered a miscarriage as a result of her injuries her family has said. Ashley Moser, 25 was shot in the neck and abdomen during the July 20 midnight premier of 'The Dark Knight Rises.'

Moser's daughter, six year old Veronica Moser-Sullivan was the youngest to die in the attack.

The man suspected of carrying out the massacre in Aurora, James Holmes, is being held in solitary confinement and without bond in the Arapahoe County jail.

He will appear in court on Monday, when prosecutors are expected to formally charge the former University of Colorado neuroscience graduate student with multiple charges of first degree murder.

Fox News reports that James Holmes sent a notebook with details of his plan to a psychiatrist there. But it is claimed the parcel sat unopened in the post room for as long as a week before its discovery on Monday

A 21-year-old woman who escaped injury in the Colorado cinema shooting rampage has given birth to a baby boy.

According to reports in America, her husband is in the same hospital in a medically induced coma with a gunshot wound to the head.

Batman star Christian Bale visited survivors of the Colorado shooting and thanked medical staff and police officers who responded to the attack that killed 12 people and injured 58 others.

Bale visited with little advance warning and also stopped by a makeshift memorial to the victims near the movie theatre that was showing "The Dark Knight Rises" when the gunfire erupted.
