Double gold rowing success

Great Britain celebrated double gold medal glory on an historic Super Saturday with the men's four and the lightweight women's double sculls winning Olympic titles in sensational style.

Olympic champion: 'We just won the Olympics!'

Speaking to BBC Sport, Gold medal-winning rowers Kat Copeland and Sophie Hosking were still to fully take in the scale of their achievements:

Kat Copeland: "I can't believe this is real, that we just won. We just won the Olympics! We're going to be on a stamp tomorrow! I've been trying all week not to think about it because it made me cry. I know this isn't the Oscars, but can I thank my mum and dad?"

Sophie Hosking: "It's something that we've been working on for so long, and there are so many people to thank. I just can't believe it's happened."

Men's rowers on their gold: 'It was our day'

The men's four have spoken about their win:

Alex Gregory: "It didn't feel real to be honest - we just did the race. It just doesn't feel real."

Pete Reed: "Double Olympic champion, I can't believe it. You run through everything in your mind before the race, you never think about afterwards. The hours we do, the hours the pain - it's all worth it."

Tom James: "I knew when we got off at the start and we got in to a rhythm that was good. It was unbelievable. It started chucking down with rain and I though 'this is for us, this is what we do' it's always chucking down with rain. It was our day."

Andrew Triggs Hodge: "This guys are the best rowers we have, we executed our plan - it was our masterpiece. It took four years to make that, four years training everyday.

"Every person here shouting, every person at home, every person who's picked up the floor each day. our families friends, you cannot believe how big the support group is. We owe a debt of thanks to everyone who helped us on our way."
