David Weir wins second gold

Great Britain's David Weir has won his second Paralympic gold in the men's 1500m T54 final. Earlier Sophie Christiansen became Britain's first triple gold medallist of the Games.

David Weir 'very proud' of Paralympic gold medal win

Paralympic champion David Weir has said he is "very proud" but "shocked" to clinch gold in the men's 1500m T54 final.

He told Channel 4: "I'm very proud and shocked really.

"It's been a really strong field this year in the event.

"I wasn't as nervous tonight. The plan was to win on the first night and I did. Once you get one under your belt you can start to relax really."
