Double Olympic gold medallist Mo Farah acted as honorary starter today at the Great North Run in Newcastle.
The middle-distance runner cut the ribbon to open the famous race and met competitors as they passed the start line.

Mo Farah continues where he left off
Double Olympic champion Mo Farah cruised to victory in the Great North City Games in Newcastle today.
He competed in the invitational 2 mile event and completed the race in 8:40:02.
