Police given extra time to question man over bodies

Detectives have been granted extra time to question a man on suspicion of murder after two bodies were found at a block of flats.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man after finding the bodies of a 69-year-old woman and a man in his thirties in a block of flats in Walsall, in the West Midlands.

The cause of death has not been established. A West Midlands Police spokesman said:

Forensic post-mortems are taking place at the moment on the two victims and results are unlikely to be available until tomorrow morning.

Man quizzed over bodies at flats

Detectives were today questioning a man on suspicion of murder after two bodies were found at a block of flats.

A 69-year-old woman was found in a flat in Walsall, in the West Midlands, with fatal injuries during the early hours of yesterday morning.

The body of a man believed to be in his 30s was then discovered by officers on ground behind the apartments in Acacia Avenue on the Yew Tree Estate.

Police arrested a 43-year-old suspect at the scene and he remains in custody.

We are not seeking anybody else at this stage in connection with the deaths. We believe all the parties involved were known to each other.
