Wiggins keen to return quickly
Olympic champion Bradley Wiggins was "looking forward to getting back on the bike" as he continued to recover from injuries sustained in a road accident. A 44-year-old woman has been interviewed by Lancashire police following the incident.
Bradley Wiggins 'was blue' by the time ambulance arrived
Yasmin Smith says she went to help the Olympic cyclist after the incident:
– yasmin smith, garage attendantBy the time I got there he had moved to a safer place but was still on the ground and he was in a lot of pain.
He said he thought he had broken his ribs and while a lot of police cars arrived it was about 15 minutes before the ambulance got there by which time he was blue.
Extent of Bradley Wiggins' injuries not clear
Police have not said whether Bradley Wiggins' injuries are serious enough to jeopardise his cycling career.
According to the Lancashire Evening Post, the collision happened at 6pm this evening when a white Astra van pulled out of a petrol station forecourt on Crow Orchard Road.

Report: Bradley Wiggins injured in collision with van
The Olympic gold medallist Bradley Wiggins is reportedly in hospital after a collision with a van near his home in Wrightington in Chorley, Lancashire.
The cyclist is believed to have broken several ribs and injured his hand and wrist, the Lancashire Evening Post reports.
