James Arthur has won the The X Factor 2012. Jahmene congratulated his fellow contestant and advised him to "use this platform, use it wisely".
James Arthur was named the winner of the X Factor tonight.
The 24-year-old singer, from Saltburn, near Middlesbrough, beat Jahmene Douglas to take the title in front of a 10,000-strong audience at Manchester Arena, with millions more watching the ITV show live on television.
Arthur looked stunned as host Dermot O'Leary announced the result and could only say "wow" when asked how he felt.
"I don't know what to say," he added.

OK, I now have confirmation Christopher DID turn up tonight asking to go on stage. It was too late because finalists were already on stage.
Chris Maloney turned up during #XFactorFinal and tried to get on stage but producers said no. Incredible.
It follows reports that he walked out of rehearsals for tonight's show earlier in the day.
Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has backed James Arthur to win X Factor.
Attending the show in Manchester, he said: "I like them both to be honest but James Arthur is my man, I really like him."
Ferdinand said he stays "in the background" when the Manchester United dressing room breaks into song, but that Wayne Rooney "loved" the show.
Asked whether Rooney has a good voice, Ferdinand added: "He tells me he has, yeah."
Ferdinand was struck by an object thrown from the crowd in the closing stages of Manchester United's 3-2 win at Manchester City today.
Last year's X Factor winners Little Mix have tweeted about tonight's final:
