Airports have been forced to cancel dozens of flights as ice and thick fog descended on the UK overnight.

It's another bitterly cold day today. It's all down to where the air originates from - and today's can be traced back to Russia.

by Lucy Verasamy - ITV Weather PresenterAfter a frosty - and in places icy start - tomorrow, cloudy, damp conditions across Scotland and Northern Ireland will sink into northern England and north Wales.
Otherwise, it will be a drier start to the weekend with some sunny spells and generally it will not be as cold as it has been.
On Sunday, most of England and Wales will be grey with patchy rain and drizzle.
Scotland and Northern Ireland will brighten up but as winds strengthen, it will feel colder.
As for early next week, temperatures are expected to plummet.
As an easterly air flow becomes established, bitterly cold air will drift in from Russia.
It will be seriously icy and frosty with a marked wind chill and a risk of snow, in the east initially.
