Odds of 66/1 on Bond to win elusive Best Film Oscar

Before the nominations are even announced William Hill has put odds of 66/1 on the latest Bond film to win the Best Picture Award for the first time in its 50 year history.

Spokesman Rupert Adams said, “Bond is the longest running movie franchise in history and Skyfall the most successful in that 23 film series, you have to think it has a chance of delivering the big one."

But despite optimism about Skyfall's chances it is still trailing Stephen Spielberg's Lincoln - 10/11, Les Miserables - 9/4 , and Life of Pi - 20/1. The British spy lags with odds of 66/1.

Best original song nod expected for singer Adele

British singer Adele will find out today whether she could be adding to her awards cabinet with an Oscar.

The singer, whose album 21 has been a huge hit in America, could receive a nomination for her Bond theme Skyfall.

There has been speculation that she could perform at the ceremony, as the awards mark 50 years of James Bond.
