More snow forecast for UK

More heavy snow is forecast for much of the UK with the cold temperatures and icy conditions expected to continue for the next few days.

Weather update: More snow expected

Significant snow for eastern Scotland and north-eastern England today - posing a threat of further disruption.

There'll be up to 10cm settling in places, with up to 20cm over the hills. With brisk winds expect blowing snow, blizzards and poor visibility across higher ground.

Everywhere will stay terribly cold. Temperatures will be barely above freezing - keeping it icy. And there'll be a marked wind chill in biting easterly winds.
