Lib Dem MEP apologises for 'insensitive' Algeria tweet
I wish to apologise profusely for the insensitive tweet I issued earlier. I have taken it down.
From @grahamwatsonmep on Twitter:Nick Clegg has condemned Lib Dem MEP Graham Watson's now-deleted tweet relating to the hostage situation in Algeria as 'sick' and offensive. The tweet, which read 'Al Qaeda 1, David Cameron 0' has since been deleted.

From @grahamwatsonmep on Twitter:A spokesman for Nick Clegg said an Algeria-related tweet sent from Lib Dem MEP Graham Watson's account was "sick and offensive."
– Spokesman for Nick Clegg, Liberal Democrat leaderWe have not been able to verify whether this tweet is authentic.
But whoever it is from, it is clearly sick and offensive and utterly condemned by Nick Clegg.
The tweet, since deleted, read: "Al Qaeda 1, @David_Cameron 0".
I'm told Mr Clegg was "furious" when he heard about the message. The party is still stressing, however, that they can't be sure Mr Watson himself sent it.
The Lib Dem press office tells me that MEP Graham Watson's now-deleted tweet relating to the hostage situation in Algeria was "offensive" and "obviously wrong".
It has now been deleted.
