Liverpool and England winger Raheem Sterling has been charged with assaulting a 27-year-old woman. The 18-year-old did not attend the hearing but his solicitor appeared on his behalf. He denies the allegation.

Police said a 27-year-old woman, who is known to Raheem Sterling, suffered "slight" facial injuries during an alleged incident in Toxteth, Liverpool, on November 2.
During today's short hearing Mr Hogan told the court that Sterling denies the allegation.
