Oscar Pistorius has claimed he mistook his girlfriend for an intruder when he shot and killed her at his home in South Africa last week.
But at his bail hearing, the prosecution said Pistorius had opened fire, knowing it was Reeva Steenkamp.
A private funeral ceremony was held for the 29-year-old today.

During Oscar Pistorius' bail hearing earlier today, the court heard a statement read out by his lawyer on his behalf.
It described the events leading up to Reeva Steenkamp's death when he said he mistook her for an intruder and the "devastating loss" of his "beloved".
In an open letter the International Paralympic Committee President Sir Philip Craven has spoken about his shock after the arrest of Oscar Pistorius after the alleged murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Sir Philip said:
"On Thursday morning we all woke up to terribly tragic news; news we did not think was possible, and news at first we did not want to hear, believe, or start to comprehend. It was the world’s biggest news story of the day and unfortunately it involved one of our leading athletes.
"My personal reaction was one of total shock and disbelief, followed by deep sympathy and condolences for the family of Reeva Steenkamp, who has tragically lost her life."
After being told he would face the charge of pre-mediated murder Oscar Pistorius left the court room in Pretoria.
The bail hearing will resume tomorrow morning.
Oscar Pistorius has said that he fired shots at the toilet door thinking an intruder had climbed through the bathroom window in an affidavit.
He claims he used a cricket bat to break down the bathroom door. He went on to say that he was, "absolutely mortified at the death of my beloved Reeva."
In an affidavit read to the court in Pretoria Oscar Pistorius has said that he was "deeply in love" with his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
He also said that he had received death threats before and so kept a 9mm pistol under his bed.
As the bail hearing for Oscar Pistorius continues his family have sat just behind the dock and have been seen overcome with emotion throughout.
Oscar Pistorius is comforted by his brother once again as his affidavit is read to the court.
In the affidavit Pistorius says he had no intention to kill his girlfriend.
