Pistorius 'threatened to break rival's legs'

The chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel has repeated threats apparently made by Pistorius to a rival, when he is alleged to have said:

I'll dash him up and break his legs

The prosecutor says "you can't say this was merely 'boy talk'." The magistrate then asks:

What kind of life would Pistorius lead if he flees, given his prostheses?

A friend of Pistorius in the public gallery mutters "Exactly."

Pistorius is sitting just in front of me. At times he is visibly fighting emotion. Not always winning.

The Prosecution argue his response to the shooting has been:

"I shot this woman and my career is gone".

Chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel argues:

"I am not saying the murder of Reeva Steenkamp was planned days in advance, weeks in advance, but certainly earlier that night."

The Prosecution attempt to paint Pistorius as selfish and sheltered, saying his response has been:

"Always me, please protect me."
