Bob Godfrey, the animator of cartoons Roobarb and Custard and Henry's Cat has died aged 91, his family has confirmed.

Roobarb and Custard animator Bob Godfrey dies

The BBC has said that animator Bob Godfrey whose career spanned 50 years and included cartoons Roobarb and Custard and Henry the Cat, has died aged 91.

Godfrey won an Oscar for his short film Great, a biography of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, but was best known for his TV work.

His death follows the death of actor Richard Briers, known for his role Roobarb and Custard, who died at the age of 79 earlier this week.
