Syrian rebels claim to have taken UN hostages
Syrian rebels say they have seized a convoy of United Nations personnel near the Golan Heights, according to a video posted to YouTube on Thursday by a violence monitoring group.
ITV News cannot independently confirm the veracity of this video:
In the video, a man saying he is from the "Martyrs of Yarmouk" brigade says the convoy would not be released until forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad withdraw from the village of Jamla in south-western Syria.
Two white armoured vehicles with 'UN' written on them containing at least three people wearing UN-style light blue helmets are visible in the video.
The UN has confirmed that about 20 of its peacekeepers have been detained in the region.
