RBS blames 'hardware fault' for banking problems
An RBS and NatWest spokesperson said:
We apologise for the disruption our customers experienced last night. All systems are up and running as normal, though any customers with any individual problems should get in touch with us.
Between roughly 9-11pm customers were not able to access online banking and also had problems with ATM use and point of service payments.
This problem was caused by a hardware fault and was not related to the issues we experienced last summer. It was much easier to fix, though clearly an unacceptable failure.
Any customer who was left out of pocket due to this outage should get in touch so we can put things right for them.

All NatWest 'services running as normal again'
NatWest has assured customers that "all services are running as normal again," after many customers were left without access to their accounts yesterday.

NatWest customer: 'I couldn't get my hands on my cash'
The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has apologised to customers who faced disruption to their NatWest banking services last night.
Customers took to Twitter to vent their anger after many were unable to withdraw cash or transfer money online.
NatWest customer Mark Hillman had planned an evening out last night, but it was cut short when he was unable to withdraw any cash.

RBS sorry for disruption to services

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has apologised to customers who faced disruption to their banking services last night and said services have now returned to normal. A spokesperson for the RBS group told the BBC:
"We are disappointed that our customers have faced disruption to banking services for a period this evening, and apologise for that. All services are now running as normal again.
"If any customers are having continued difficulties please call on 0845 7242424 if an RBS customer or 0845 7888 444 if a NatWest customer so we can resolve their issues."

Just logged in but very slow
Just tryed to log on to my online account said there is a problem and to try again later
I can now log in but cant transfer money!
NatWest has told ITV News it is aware of the problems but had no immediate response.
